Send the actual request

The wording matters. Your insurer may request photos of completed work, a contractor invoice, a licensed inspection, or an engineering opinion. Send the letter and deadline, with policy numbers and other sensitive details removed.

Ask these questions before booking

Get the requirements in writing so everyone is working toward the same deliverable.

  • What condition or repair must be addressed?
  • Who is qualified to prepare or sign the report?
  • Are repair photos and invoices enough?
  • Is a stamped engineering report required?
  • What is the submission deadline and review process?

Condition can matter to insurance

Kentucky Department of Insurance guidance explains that hazardous structural features and poor maintenance can affect insurability. It does not establish a universal Kentucky deck-report requirement or guarantee acceptance of a contractor’s documentation.

What Yellowstone can discuss with you

We can discuss a deck repair estimate, the scope of proposed work, and documentation of contracted repairs. If your insurer requires licensed inspection or engineering, that report must come from the appropriate provider. The insurer makes coverage and acceptance decisions.

A city notice follows its own process

A municipal correction notice may call for permits, inspections, or an approved design. Bring the full notice to the repair conversation. Completing a contractor’s scope does not automatically close a city case or satisfy every requirement.
